Fashion and Social Responsibility. These words define the kind of work Gisele Barbosa has at her Ateliê in Niteroi (RJ). Each detail of her creations hides a life´s story ... a person that is having an oportunity of personal growth.
Currently Gisele Barbosa employs, directly and indirectly, about 500 women. Gisele always calls them "my girls". According to Gisele, her "girls" are the true artists that keep moving the Ateliê along.
Why handmade clothes?
Handmade work provides each clothes with an unique characteristic. Besides, it is the best way she found to try to help all the women involved in the production process.
Asked about it Gisele always answer: "In our society, in our world the most important thing is each human being. I just try to help them my way, showing that they are really capable of doing something beautiful, something different that allows them to improve themselves".
Gisele Barbosa believes that handmade work actives human being´s real essence.
